Daisy Claire

was discovered by Edgar Bear tucked inside an apple basket by the gate of Ambrose Orchards, nestled beneath a faded quilt as if someone had once meant to come back for her and never did. He carried her through the gate, her yarn hair a little tousled from the journey, her yellow dress torn and wrinkled, and her sweet face so calm it seemed she already knew she had finally made it somewhere safe.

 

Along the way, Daisy Claire lost a bit of her polished finish and picked up the soft, weathered look of a little one who has been held, set aside, and made to wait longer than she should have for a home. If someone loses a shoe, feels left out, or starts to cry, Daisy Claire is already there, patting the spot beside her or whispering something that somehow ends in giggles.
